We’re really excited! Like super excited! We’re moving forward!
We have raised all the startup costs!
We have been so blessed by people’s generosity! We seriously can’t comprehend your incredible generosity.
So, now where does that leave us?
–We’re negotiating a lease, and all that goes with that (architecture, design, furniture, etc. etc.). We’re being careful in this process and doing lots of research on the property/neighborhood in order to provide for the longevity of Purple Door.
–We’re getting close to selecting whose coffee we’re going to serve (We’ll miss all the samples from the different roasters though).
–Once the roaster is selected we’ll buy all our equipment (We’ll get better prices by purchasing through the roaster).
–We’re still casting our vision to the city and sharing our story. We want people to catch the vision before we’re even open!
–We’re writing job training materials and putting together our overall assessments. If you have life skills assessments, job readiness assessments, any sort of thing that will help our employees move towards holding a job for the long term, please let us know!
–We’re working on everything else that comes our way. Start-ups are a bit unpredictable on what needs to get done. So we’re really learning to roll with punches (to get to what’s real [thanks, Van Halen]).
We feel like we can’t and don’t say thank you enough. Thank you for your commitment to supporting Purple Door. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and love. Your faithfulness to how God is working in the city of Denver has brought us to a very exciting place. We’re so blessed to have so many wonderful people journeying with us on this effort. Thank you.
Please contact us with questions, comments, or more info about Purple Door. We kind of like telling our story–it’s been a fun one!
